On June 10, 2009, the new WordPress core has been released to the latest version, 2.8. Every year, it seems the wordPress developers always improve to the next level, new version, and new features offered. On the dashboard now, everybody could see “WordPress 2.8 is available! Please update now.” Even, the developers is now developing to provide the version 2.9, and 3.0. It means you could try to download it because they has got some useful information from many users when announcing for the wordpress 2.8 beta test 1 and 2. You will find some different appearance on widgets section, and the major improvement when you can change and choose the themes / templates through the dashboard without you have to go to control panel, just 1-2 clicks and done!

WordPress 2.8 also offers the faster overall speed, and taxonomies. But I can’t tell more about it. Anyway, the decision whether you want to update your WordPress current version or not is your own choice. I can’t suggest you anymore. But for the new people who never installed the older version, likely there’s no reason to not try it. This version has a name “Baker” that honor of noted trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker, cheers!
